€2.1 million for local projects
Local organisations and authorities working to combat new invasive alien species can apply for financial support through a new European fund. The European Invasive Alien Species Rapid-Response Fund makes a total of €2.1 million available for projects aimed at preventing the establishment and spread of harmful non-native species.
The subsidy is intended for concrete local measures or plans to prevent the potential establishment of invasive species in the future. Projects can receive between €10,000 and €50,000. The fund is an initiative of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).
