Signify has equipped the Philips Stadium in Eindhoven with advanced Philips GreenPower LED and infrared grow lights, delivering extraordinary results.

The football pitch now has superior grass that is strong and healthy, meeting the highest European standards - crucial for players, fans, and broadcasters. Stadium director Sjors van den Boogaart indicates that the improvement of the pitch fits within the club's broader ambitions: 'We are upgrading the quality of the Philips Stadium, and that includes a better pitch. Our ambition is to have a pitch of European top level.'

'This innovation ensures that the grass receives exactly the additional lighting and warmth it needs, on top of natural daylight, to grow and recover optimally, even during dark, cold, and wet periods,' says Paul Baas, Supervisor Grounds Team PSV De Enk Groen & Golf.

The system automatically adjusts lighting and heat based on the specific needs of the grass. This ensures optimal growing conditions at all times. By switching to specialized LED fixtures, energy consumption has been reduced by up to 50%. In addition, existing installations could be seamlessly reused, highlighting the system's efficiency.

With this step, Signify, its partners, and PSV emphasize their commitment to technological progress and sporting excellence, by not only ensuring a perfect playing field but also managing energy efficiently.
