Husqvarna unveils new petrol-powered backpack blower at Demopark Eisenach

Husqvarna has introduced a new backpack leaf blower for the professional market: the Husqvarna 590BTS. According to the manufacturer, the unit is designed for heavy-duty and demanding outdoor tasks such as clearing wet leaves. The company claims the 590BTS is the most powerful backpack blower in the world, based on published competitor specifications as of April 2024.

The 590BTS is powered by a 79.4 cc X-TORQ engine and, according to Husqvarna, delivers a maximum blowing force of 56 Newton and an air volume of 2100 cubic metres per hour. With these specifications, the brand aims to meet the growing demand for more powerful blowers among green professionals.

AutoTune-controlled carburetor

One of the key features of the new model is its AutoTune-controlled carburetor, which automatically adjusts the air-fuel mixture based on working conditions. Husqvarna has also introduced a new starting procedure: a fixed sequence with a 'start button' and primer bulb is intended to simplify engine start-up, according to the company.

Specifications

To support long operating periods, the blower is equipped with an ergonomic harness system including a ventilated back pad, hip belt and adjustable handle. Husqvarna reports that the use of LowVib technology reduces vibration, improving user comfort. Other features include cruise control, a three-stage air filter and a footrest. The fuel tank, which Husqvarna says has the largest capacity in its class, combined with improved fuel efficiency, allows for extended run times without refuelling.

Husqvarna Fleet Services

The unit is also prepared for digital integration. The 590BTS can be connected to Husqvarna Fleet Services, the manufacturer's digital platform for fleet and asset management. According to Wim van Veldhuizen, Manager Husqvarna Professional, the new blower responds to the need for powerful, efficient equipment in the professional sector. 'It's built to make heavy-duty blowing tasks easier, faster and more efficient for professionals worldwide,' Van Veldhuizen states.

The Husqvarna 590BTS is expected to be available through authorised dealers from the first quarter of 2026.
