Updated lists for species and damage
As of 1 January 2026, a revised examination document will apply for the personal certificate Tree Safety Inspector (BVC/VTA). The main changes concern the assortment lists: both the list of tree species and the list of diseases and pests have been updated.
The adjustments are intended to better align with current practice, in which new forms of damage and less common species are increasingly encountered.
Examination aligned with practice in 2026
The BVC examinations will also be adjusted as of 1 January. Candidates will therefore be tested on the revised assortment and the updated types of damage. For tree care professionals, this means that up-to-date knowledge of diseases, pests and species-specific risks becomes even more important in preparation.
The examination document 'Boomveiligheidscontroleur 2026.1' can be found in the document section on the website of Groenkeur. Examinations can be taken with registered training providers.
