Recently, Modiform announced that it would gradually phase out Thomsen's activities in a controlled manner. It has now been announced that Modiform and Van Tuijl Haaften have reached an agreement on the takeover of a substantial part of Thomsen's production assets.
With the deal, both parties aim to safeguard the continuity of the production and supply of injection-moulded pots. Thomsen's production facility in France will stop operations in the first half of July 2026. Until then, Thomsen will continue producing the volumes that have already been confirmed. Modiform will subsequently handle deliveries to customers.
Van Tuijl Haaften
Van Tuijl Haaften has more than 25 years of experience in injection moulding products such as flower pots, flower buckets and soft-fruit containers. The company operates around thirty injection-moulding machines and aims to have Thomsen's production operational in Haaften as quickly as possible. According to Wilma Bloot, CEO of Modiform, the agreement provides customers with greater certainty regarding future deliveries. 'Van Tuijl Haaften BV is an experienced partner in injection moulding production, and we are fully confident they will successfully continue the production,' said Bloot.
