Van Dijk Tuinen has created a modern lifestyle garden for a family in Vleuten. According to the landscaper, the spaciousness of the house is accentuated by the lawn.
The starting point for Van Dijk Tuinen was a newly built house on a completely empty plot. The homeowners asked the landscaping company to design a garden that would complement their modern home. With the addition of a terrace and a swimming pool, this goal has been fully achieved, according to owner Jeroen van Dijk.
Light and space
Van Dijk Tuinen planted multi-stemmed shrubs as solitary features in the garden. This brings greenery into the space while maintaining light and openness. The flower beds provide beautiful colours throughout the year. The plant selection was made specifically to match the architectural style of the house.
Monthly maintenance
The garden remains in perfect condition thanks to a robotic mower and monthly maintenance visits. The smart irrigation system, which is connected via Wi-Fi to real-time weather updates, automatically adjusts the amount of watering as needed. "Ideal during the summer months," says Van Dijk. If necessary, the homeowners can also make adjustments remotely via their smartphone, such as turning specific sprinkler zones on or off.
An Ibiza-inspired garden
The family in Vleuten lives near the peaceful yet vibrant Maximapark. This green environment has been reflected in the design of the garden. Large ceramic tiles measuring 90 x 90 cm add a sense of luxury and calm. 'It feels like being on Ibiza,' says Van Dijk. For this project, Van Dijk collaborated with Studio Meulenberg.
