ASSET Rail deploys emission-free mower for maintenance along railway lines

ASSET Rail is now working with the first electric AS Sherpa 920 E in the Netherlands. The machine was supplied by Wim van Breda. The importer of the mower is Helthuis Tuin- en Parkmachines. The electric flail mower will be used by ASSET Rail for green maintenance along railway lines.

The AS Sherpa 920 E is a fully electric remote-controlled mower. According to the suppliers, the machine is intended for work on difficult terrain and slopes up to 18 degrees. The mower operates with four interchangeable 56V batteries via the so-called FusionCore battery system.

Less emissions and less noise

For public space managers and contractors, emission-free operation is playing an increasingly important role. Electric machines are being deployed more often in locations where noise and emissions need to be limited. The Sherpa 920 E operates fully emission-free and, according to the manufacturer, produces less noise than a comparable machine with a combustion engine.
The mower also features an LED interface displaying the battery status in real time. A robust tubular frame and foldable safety bar are also part of the machine.

Designed for heavy mowing work

The AS Sherpa 920 E is equipped with the AS cross-blade system, designed for heavy mowing work in rough conditions. The machine is aimed at terrain management along infrastructure, embankments and hard-to-reach locations.
With the delivery to ASSET Rail, the first electric version of this machine is now entering practical use in the Netherlands.
