Giant extends G1500 and increases tipping load by more than 20 percent

Ten-centimetre longer wheelbase increases tipping load from 1,210 to 1,485 kilos

Tobroco-Giant has expanded the G1500 series with the G1500L X-TRA and G1500L X-TRA HD. By extending the wheelbase by ten centimetres, the compact wheel loader gains more stability and its tipping load increases from 1,210 to 1,485 kilos. Engine power remains unchanged at 25 hp.

The new L versions are intended for users who need greater lifting capacity while still working with a compact machine. The G1500L X-TRA is 2,870 millimetres long without a bucket and 1,100 millimetres wide on standard tyres. Its operating weight is 1,525 kilos. According to Giant, the longer wheelbase provides additional stability, particularly when turning and manoeuvring with a full bucket.

Same engine, higher tipping load

The additional capacity does not come from a more powerful engine. Both the G1500 X-TRA and the new L version are powered by a three-cylinder Kubota D1105 Stage V engine producing 25 hp. The working hydraulics also remain unchanged at 42 litres per minute at 170 bar. The tipping load, however, increases by 275 kilos, from 1,210 to 1,485 kilos. This is an increase of almost 23 percent.

The G1500L X-TRA is also available in an HD version. The difference is in the tractive force: 9,200 N for the L X-TRA compared with 12,500 N for the L X-TRA HD. Both versions have the same specified tipping load of 1,485 kilos.

Suitable for relatively narrow access points

For landscapers, the main advantage lies in the combination of size and capacity. Giant lists applications including loading trailers and big bags, as well as moving soil and sand. With a width of 1.10 metres, the machine remains suitable for relatively narrow access points.
